Background and Purpose
Along with its rapid development of economy, China sees an ever increasing demand for high-quality beef, and beef cattle industry has become a sunrise business with great potential market in the future. While having abundant resources of yellow cattle, China has made remarkable progress in beef cattle industry in recent years through both imporing fine beef cattle breeds from abroad and improving the traits of its local varieties. This workshop is designed to provide a platform for scientists and entrepreneurs from around the world to discuss key issues related to beef cattle improvement and industrialization, to share latest advances in the research of beef cattle genetic breeding and improvement as well experiences in the industrialization of beef cattle production, high-quality beef processing and marketing, to create an opportunity for participants to establish relations of exchange and cooperation, thus to promote the joint development of beef cattle industry in China and other countries.

May 7: On-site registration.
May 8: Morning: Opening ceremony and keynote presentations.
Afternoon: Plenary session presentations.
May 9: Morning: Plenary session presentations an closing ceremony.
Afternoon: Study tour in Yangling (including NWAFU Museum Garden, Yangling Beef Cattle Breeding and Processing Base, etc.)
May 10: Sightseeing-tour: Either Museum of Emperor Qinshihuang Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses or Famen Buddhist Temple according to the choice of the participants.

Those who are interested in the theme and topics of the workshop and tend to participate may download the registration form. Please complete the registration form and submit it by email to the the workshop secretariat (email: 87091148@163.com) before April 30, 2011. Upon receiving the registration form, the organizing committee will send an official invition and the Authorized Visa Application Form to foreign participants with which one can apply for his/her visa in the Chinese embassy or consulate general.
Registration fee
The registration fee is 1000 Yuan RMB for domestic participants and $200(USD) for foreign participants.
Call for Papers
The workshop organizing committee plans to publish the proceedings of the workshop. Participants are encouraged to submit papers relevant to the workshop topics. Please send the full text of your paper together with the registration form to the workshop secretariat before April 15, 2011. Those who want deliver a presentation should also include a one-page CV and a photo of yours.
Accommodation and Airport Transportation Service
1. Accommodation will be arranged at a local hotel. Each participant is responsible for covering his/her room cost.
2. Free transportation from and to Xi'an International Airport will be provided upon request.
